All you have to do is two things:

1. Root your kindle fire
2. Go to Android Market place, purchase for USD0.99, download and install the World Wide Kindle Fire application from Google Android Market Place.

BUT we believe that we have found ways to buy books, apps and music  from Amazon App store for your Kindle fire. Yes, you can  access the rich Amazon ecosystem even though you are not residing in the US!

The trick here is to get your Amazon account to behave like a US account. Kindle Fire ( or any other Kindles) is just a gateway to access your content on Amazon cloud and Amazon– with the possible exception of video streaming– doesn’t honestly care where your device is. And you are not required to root your device whatsoever.

Here are the steps you can try, based on our experiments and on what other people has found out:

1. Register a new Amazon account with a new email address, this is for “safety” purpose.
2. Go to here (fakenamegenerator.com), grab a fake US name, credit card, addresses and all other information.
3. Apply the information on the newly created Amazon account, make sure that for this account, you use the fake US name, fake credit card, billing addresses and so on. The only thing that needs to be real is your email address. All others must follow what is generated from the above website.
4. And note that you cannot assign more than one address or more than one credit card to this Amazon account. If you already do, please delete all the non-US addresses, credit cards and so on.
5. For your convenience,  turn on 1-Click and REMEMBER to SET your payment method & preferred billing address in 1-Click Settings.
6. You are ready download free apps, free e-books, free magazines, free music because Amazon won’t check on your credit card until you really buy something that require cold, hard cash. You can’t buy apps using this fake credit card information, of course.
7. To buy books, magazines, apps etc, use another Amazon account to buy a gift card, and send the gift card to the newly created Amazon account, now your account has some money! Pay with your Malaysia credit card and MUST choose US Billing Address registered earlier.
8. Upon receiving the Amazon.com Gift card email, follow the email instruction to enter the Claim Code to your Amazon account. You can start buying digital contents from Amazon Store now.

That’s it! Via this way we manage to buy books, buy music, buy apps from Amazon App Store without using VPN. Good luck!

Let me finish this post by telling a  bit of stories. I was out to deliver the Kindle to a customer in SS2 last week. When he got his kindle, his eyes filled with gleam. He told me, in moving tone that he didn’t anticipate that he would get Kindle here in Malaysia(!), and he thanked me very much for it.  He was by no means the only one; a lot of people, after getting their kindles, wrote to me to express their gratitude towards us.
